Long Beach - Aquarium of the Pacific

Aquarium of the Pacific gives you a tour of the Pacific Ocean, the world's largest ocean. From the frigid waters of the North Pacific... to sunny Southern California and Baja... to the colorful reefs of the tropical Pacific. The aquarium contains more than 12,500 animals. Especially popular is the Shark Lagoon, where you can come face-to-face, and even touch this ocean predator.
Ontario - Scandia Family Fun Center
Located about 35 miles east of Los Angeles, Scandia has two beautifully landscaped, Scandinavian-themed 18-hole miniature golf courses that play through ponds, streams, fountains and gardens. Other attractions include Screamer Coaster, bumper boats, baseball cages, a Stockholm Raceway and a state-of-the-art video arcade. Scandia also has another Southern California location in Victorville.
Santa Clarita - Mountasia Family Fun Center
Located about 30 miles north of Los Angeles (off I-5), Mountasia is a 7-acre entertainment park with fun for the entire family. Attractions include Lazer Tag, a 20' rock climbing wall, a huge video and redemption game arcade, two 18-hole miniature golf coursed, go kars, bumper boats, batting cages and a Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour and Restaurant.
Santa Monica - Pacific Park
Located about 15 miles west of Los Angeles' city center, the 2-acre Pacific Park is situated right on the Santa Monica Pier, an historic landmark that debuted in 1909. On sunny afternoons, thousands of people stroll along the pier just to enjoy the day; and the park itself attracts thousands of visitors a year, partly because of its unique oceanfront views. Pacific Park is an old-fashioned amusement park with adult thrill-rides, Kids Cove Rides, a climbing wall, midway games, a 9-hole miniature golf course, restaurants, artists and occasional concerts.
Universal City - Universal Studios Hollywood

Located right in Hollywood, Universal Studios is billed as "the world's largest movie studio and theme park," and is one of the top attractions in Southern California. You'll get an inside-look at the sets and behind-the-scenes secrets of some of your favorite movies. Your ticket price includes the theme park, plus a totally unique shopping, dining, nightlife and entertainment experience. There's plenty to keep visitors entertained for an entire day and night.
Upland - Boomers
Located about 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, this park is part of the Boomers chain of amusement parks. This location includes attractions such as bumper boats, go kars, miniature golf, glow-in-the-dark Cosmic Golf (see picture), a rock-climbing wall and a state-of-the-art video game room. Boomers also has Southern California locations in Palm Springs, Fountain Valley, Irvine, El Cajon, Vista and San Diego.
Valencia - Six Flags Magic Mountain
**HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
Magic Mountain is located about 30 miles north of Los Angeles (off I-5). With 11 different "world records" and 16 world-class roller coasters, the park is known for its extreme roller coasters (a 150', 60 mph free-fall; a hairpin drop coaster; a 55 mph plunge in 2 seconds; acceleration from 0-100 mph in .7 seconds, then straight up a 41- story tower; a "fourth dimensional" coaster; and more). But they also have 100+ rides, games and family attractions, including kiddy coaster rides.
Anaheim - Disneyland Park &
Disney's California Adventure Park

Disneyland is a "must see" destination that is visited by over 15 million people every year. The Small World Ride, the Tea Cups, Main Street USA, Sleeping Beauty's Castle and Mickey's Toontown are classics that delight the young and "the young at heart." And who can resist taking photos with Mickey, Minnie and the rest of the Disney gang? It could easily take several days to explore all eight "lands, with over 85 attractions, over 20 shows, 70 restaurants and 90 shops. And Disney's California Adventure features even more shows, parades and attractions, such as spectacular fireworks and the Electrical Light Parade.
Buena Park - Knott's Berry Farm
**HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
Located about 20 miles southeast of Los Angeles (off I-5), the 160-acre Knotts Berry Farm is one of southern California's most visited locations. The park has an "old west" theme - train rides, stagecoach rides and an old ghost town. They also have world-class thrill-rides (a launch coaster going 0-80 mph in 2.3 seconds; or the Supreme Scream that drops 30 stories in 3 seconds) as well as fun family shows, Camp Snoopy and the much-loved "Peanuts" characters.
Fountain Valley - Boomers
Located about 35 miles south of downtown Los Angeles (off the 22), this park is part of the Boomers chain of amusement parks. This location includes attractions such as bumper boats, go kars, miniature golf, a rock-climbing wall and a state-of-the-art video game room (see picture). Boomers also has Southern California locations in Palm Springs, Upland, Irvine, El Cajon and San Diego.
Irvine - Boomers
Located about 40 miles south of downtown Los Angeles (off I-5), this park is part of the Boomers chain of amusement parks. This location includes attractions such as bumper boats, go kars, kiddy go-karts, King Arthur's Carnival (see picture), Laser Tag, miniature golf, a rock-climbing wall and a state-of-the-art video game room. Boomers also has Southern California locations in Palm Springs, Upland, Fountain Valley, El Cajon, Vista and San Diego.
Newport Beach - Balboa Fun Zone
Located about 45 miles south of Los Angeles, on the Balboa Peninsula of Newport Beach (off the 22), the Fun Zone continues to compete with entertainment giants such as Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm. The Balboa Fun Zone is one of Southern California's oldest and last old-fashioned coastal amusement areas. Over 50 years ago, big band music was broadcast live over national radio from the then-famous Rendezvous Ballroom. Since 1936, the Fun Zone's famous ferris wheel has been a landmark in the Newport Harbor area. In addition to the Fun Zone, you can bask on one of Balboa's pristine beaches; take the Catalina Flyer for a 1-hour ride to Catalina Island; or ride the Balboa Island Ferry for only a dollar.
Carlsbad - LegoLand

Located about 35 miles north of San Diego (off I-5), LegoLand offers fun for the whole family. They have over 50 super-rides, rides with no height restrictions, action-packed shows, great restaurants and unique attractions that include the Fun Town Fire Academy fire truck race; the Coastersaurus and fossil-digging at Dino Island; and the Aquazone Wave Racers. You can uncover a forgotten empire at the Land of Adventure; Set sail on the high seas at Splash Battle; test your bravery at the Knights' Tournament; or jump into a life-sized Lego race vehicle on the Lego Technic Race Track.
El Cajon - Boomers Located about 14 miles east of San Diego (off the 94), this park is part of the Boomers chain of amusement parks. This location includes attractions such as batting cages (see picture), bumper boats, go kars, kids county fair (miniature theme park), a rock-climbing wall, miniature golf and a state-of-the-art video game room. Boomers also has Southern California locations in Palm Springs, Upland, Fountain Valley, Irvine, Vista and San Diego.
Escondido - San Diego Zoo Wild Animal Park
**HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
Located about 35 miles north of San Diego's city center (off I-15) in the San Pasqual Valley, this 1,800 acre Wild Animal Park is both a large wildlife sanctuary (for more than 3,500 animals of more than 400 species), as well as a huge botanical garden and native species habitat (with over 1.5 million specimens of more than 3,500 species). Rides include: the Bush Line Railway; Photo Caravan Safari Tour, Cheetah Run Safari and Zoowerks - the Ride. The park also has many fascinating exhibits that include: Lion Camp; Condor Ridge; Heart of Africa; Elephant Overlook; Nairobi Village; Kilimanjaro Safari Walk; an African Aviary, as well as many shows scheduled throughout the day.
San Diego - Boomers
Located off the 805 Freeway, this park is part of the Boomers chain of amusement parks. This location includes attractions such as batting cages, bumper boats, go kars, Kids County Fair (miniature theme park - see picture), Lazer Tag, miniature golf, a rock-climbing wall and a state-of-the-art video game room. Boomers also has Southern California locations in Palm Springs, Upland, Fountain Valley, Irvine, Vista and El Cajon.
San Diego - Belmont Park Giant Dipper
**HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

The Giant Dipper (located at Belmont Park on Mission Beach) is San Diego's only beach front amusement park. In addition to strolling the Boardwalk, you can surf, play on the beach or enjoy the rides. This is a traditional old-fashioned family fun park that offers everything from rides and games to shops and oceanfront restaurants. It is home to the historic Giant Dipper Roller Coaster (see picture) and the Plunge, as well as other attractions such as, Beach Blaster, Chaos, Krazy Kars, Tilt-a-Whirl, Carousel, Crazy Submarine and Thunder Boats.
San Diego - San Diego Zoo
**HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! 
Located south of downtown (off I-5), the San Diego Zoo is one of the largest in the world, offering a truly unmatched experience of rare sights and sounds. The zoo has the highest reputation among the world's zoological societies, and is well known for conservation of endangered species (such as California Condors and African black rhinos) and as a leader in offering "cageless" exhibits. A guided bus tour and a gondola lift provide an overview of the 100-acres that also include a world-class botanical garden. The Giant Pandas (which were taken on loan from China and carefully reared here) are one of the most popular exhibits. The Children's zoo is also a special feature, as is the Gorilla Tropics, where you'll see an African rain forest with waterfalls, gorillas, pygmy chimpanzees and more. Other favorites include: the Sun Bear Forest that simulates an Asian tropical rain forest and the exhibit of over 100 birds native to Australasia.
San Diego - SeaWorld San Diego
**HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
Located along the shore of Mission Bay, SeaWorld combines entertainment and learning, which makes it popular with both visitors and locals. You'll find dolphins, whales, stingrays, starfish and 4,000 other sea creatures representing over 300 species. You can observe many of them as you walk through an 80 meter tunnel that runs through the park. One of the top draws is Shamu, the killer whale (see picture). He and his trainers entertain audiences with awesome 20-minute shows. (Be prepared to get wet if you sit on one of the front-row seats.) Other animal attractions include: Forbidden Reef (touch and feed California bat rays); Rocky Point Preserve (feed the dolphins); and, Shark Encounter (see loads of sharks as you walk through an underwater tube). You can also enjoy ride attractions, such as a whitewater adventure, a wild roller coaster and a rock-climbing wall.
Vista - Boomers
Located about 40 miles north of San Diego (east of Oceanside, off the 78), this park is part of the Boomers chain of amusement parks. This location includes attractions such as batting cages, bumper boats, go kars, Kidopolis (a special world of climbing, crawling and playing just for kids - see picture), Lazer Tag, miniature golf and a state-of-the-art video game room. Boomers also has Southern California locations in Palm Springs, Upland, Fountain Valley, Irvine, San Diego and El Cajon.
Palm Springs - Boomers
Located in Cathedral City (off the 10, about 100 miles south of Los Angeles), this park is part of the Boomers chain of amusement parks. This location includes attractions such as bumper boats, go kars (see picture), miniature golf, a rock-climbing wall and a state-of-the-art video game room. Boomers also has Southern California locations in Upland, Fountain Valley, Irvine, El Cajon, Vista and San Diego.
Redlands - Pharaoh's Lost Kingdom
Located about 60 miles east of Los Angeles (off the 10), Pharaoh's Lost Kingdom is an Egyptian-themed Amusement Park, a Water Park and a Family Entertainment Center all rolled into one. With over 17 acres of wild midway rides, kiddy rides, the tallest water slide in the US, 4 nine-hole miniature golf courses, 3 race car tracks, an outdoor amphitheater, dozens of other attractions and a sandy beach, you'll be able to find something for everyone.
Riverside - Castle Park
Located about 60 miles east of Los Angeles (off the 91), Castle Park has the feel of an old-fashioned amusement park. It was voted "Favorite Family Attraction" in the Inland Empire. You'll find 35 rides and attractions, dozens of thrill-rides, four 18-hole miniature golf courses, a professional magic show and a state-of-the-art arcade with over 200 video games. The park also has facilities to accommodate small groups up to 50 people, or for larger groups up to 500 people.
Victorville - Scandia Family Fun Center
Located about 85 miles northeast of Los Angeles, Scandia has two beautifully landscaped, Scandinavian-themed, 18-hole miniature golf courses that play through ponds, streams, fountains and gardens. Other attractions include the 16-story high Scandia Skyscreamer (spins 55 mph, while rotating 360 degrees), bumper boats, baseball cages and a Stockholm Raceway. Scandia also has another Southern California location in Ontario.
